Persuasive Speech On Why YOU Should STOP Food Waste

 

I'm pretty sure we all have that one dish our mums make when we were kids that we really disliked. Yuck. We can all agree; it's not nice to your mouth AND your taste buds. I mean, even I want to throw away the disgusting remnants of revolting food. But what if I told you that throwing food can impact us in a way you would have never imagine... Yup, that's right. The problem is FOOD WASTE. As you all know, I'm that one girl called Sophia, and today I'll tell you why you shouldn't waste food.

You may think that food waste doesn't affect you AND the environment. Well, I'm going to prove you wrong. On a website called "Wasted Food Statistics","35% of the wasted food is simply thrown out by supermarkets, shops, and households. Much of it is still perfectly fit for eating." Just imagine. Your parents pay tons of money just to get food inside your mouths, and yet you throw food which means throwing away your money. This is just wrong. No one should ever have to waste your money just because you refuse to eat. I get it. It's hard shoving up vegetables in your mouths, but it isn't good for not just you, but your bank account.

My second reason is that it affects the environment. In a serious condition. I bet you don't really think much about how it affects the environment. Well, the real question you should be thinking is where does all the food you throw goes? It goes to landfill and rots, which produce a greenhouse gas called methane, and leads to a chain reaction to global warming and climate change. Both 2 massive problems you do not want to be worse than it already is. I mean, do you want a burning Earth that could kill us all at once? 

Food wastage is a handful. There are so many problems about it not even the smartest humans could fix. One of those problems is world hunger. All those precious food that could go to people who starve to death ends up in the bin. Don't you feel a little bit guilty? People are so blessed to be eating food when all they do is whine like an ungrateful chihuahua. They have the choice to eat but throw their food instead? They are undeserving of food. No one should ever do such monstrous things.

Just think about it. Think of all the problems we could be solving if food waste wasn't one of them. 8 billion of us is either eating out food, starving for food, or causing food wastage. But what can we do? I mean we literally have no idea how to solve this problem. Sure, it may seem that way. But there is one thing you guys can do that plays a big part to getting the solution. Spread the word. And stop throwing away your food. It's really not that hard to understand. What more of an explanation you could possibly need? I think you kids and adults are smart enough to figure this out. Just listen to me. Then maybe you'll save the world, and your poor bank account.
