Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious amenities:
Go karts, waterslides, pool (with a BAR in it), tennis court, mini golf, gaming room, beach volleyball, jumping pillow and bike rentals

Facilities:

kitchens, picnic area, BBQ areas, camping grounds and campervans

Hydroslides

What I liked:

The Hydroslides had some great features. It had lights inside, so it made the experience even more enjoyable. It also had a stoplight at the entrance when it's your turn to slide down the long snake of a waterslide. My family and I booked a slot for the camping ground, and luckily, the weather conditions were not so bad. LTHR made camping so much more fun, especially with just a short walking distance to the amenities. It was pretty easy to camp, since the easily-accessible facilities were very convenient. As a beginner at camping (not me because I went to a camping trip in school), it's safe to say that this resort was amazing with everything just walking or driving. Like Huka Falls*. The resort itself kept us entertained, with renting vehicles like bikes or go karts, so the result was that we didn't really have much free time since we explored Taupo and its simple town in the North Island.

Wairakei Resort Taupo review

geothermally heated pool, perfect for a cool summer

What I liked:

This resort has got to be one of the most chill and relaxing resorts of I've ever been to. With two geothermally heated pools and jacuzzis, it took my experience to the next level. Since it was a slight tinge of cold in the late-December air, these features of the resort was perfect for this occasion. There also was a buffet breakfast, which served a hearty meal of bacon, eggs, sausages and more savoury foods. The place was actually really big, so since we had a bit of spare time in our hands, we used it to take a view of the whole resort. Also, the view was very lovely!

Amenities:
Tennis multi-purpose court, public golf court, squash court, body firm spa and gym

Buffet breakfast

The view looks great, doesn't it?

Here's an image I drew of a geothermal hot pool, as Taupo is home to many of the pools!
