The Peculiar School called Erehmai | Chapter 4: A Conversation Like That

Monica needed to think, and fast. What could she do when there was nothing to do to stop this sensation. But as if on cue, the numbness slipped away as Ms. Silver turned to scan the other direction. Monica sighed with relief and so did James. As Ms. Silver walked away, Monica looked left and right before she spoke to James. Then she turned to face James, who clearly seemed overwhelmed by this new discovery. "Did you see that? No, did you FEEL that? That numb feeling where you can't move?" Monica asked. "Yeah, I did. It felt... weird. How can she do that?" James said. "I don't know. I might do some research about demons and their abilities." Monica checked the time on her watch. "I think I have to go now. My parents might worry about me and call the police or something. See you tomorrow."

The next day Monica thought of this school a bit differently. She asked her parents if she could move to a new school. But as she had expected, they've rejected the idea. So she has to wait for about a year until she could move to a new school and leave this terror of a school. But 1 year wasn't nothing. It was long and time seemed to pass very slowly for Monica. She grabbed her school bag and headed down to Erehmai Elementary School. Then she went towards the school gate, sighed deeply, and went inside the school. There infront of the school was James. "Hi. Did your parents call the police?" James asked. "Fortunately, no. They didn't." Monica said with a small grin on her face. "I need to know why they use these unpractical rules. It's a rule for a reason." Monica's face turned serious. "But... how?" James said. "I don't know too, James." She said and looked around in deep thought. "We'll have to find that out by ourselves." She said. "Normally when you do that, you get in trouble." James said as the bell blared to mark the start of school. "Well, it will be worth it to find information about this school if it means getting in trouble." She declared as she walked away.

Greeting of teachers and attendance was completely normal except the fact that you raise your hand in the air for the teachers to mark the roll call. But then, Ms. Smith thrashed the door right opened in panic. "Ms. Stirling, we need to talk to you." and Ms. Stirling instructed the children to "stay put". But that was not going to stop Monica from overhearing the conversation. As Ms. Stirling closed the door, Monica leaned her ear against the door so that she could hear the conversation between the teachers. "I think that we should make a new rule that children should eat outside so that I can begin to recruit children to be my slaves." A voice said that Monica didn't recognise. She suspected it might be Ms. Silver. "I agree." Ms. Stirling said. "Same here." Ms. Smith concurred. "Great. All you have to do is sign the paper." Ms. Silver instructed to them as Monica heard a rustling of paper. "Alright, you are free to go. We shall start by recruiting the naughty children to be my slaves throughout the lesson." Ms. Silver commanded as both Ms. Stirling and Ms. Smith retreated to their classrooms. Monica hurried to her seat she heard the word "lesson" from Ms. Silver. She was both panicked but was also expecting a conversion like that.
