First food: Tonkatsu Ramen, a broth rich  and creamy,  made from simmering pork bones ⏺  Hey Ramen My comfort foods are probably a warm bowl of soup-based noodles with mouth-watering toppings. This is the example of my favourite foods to eat when I go outside with my family on the weekends and we just want a break from everything that's happened this week. This particular bowl of Tonkatsu Ramen was excellent and exactly how I wanted, from the first slurp of a spoonful of soup, it was the right amount of seasoning added, and it was super addictive. I enjoyed eating a warm meal, though I wished it would be served a bit hotter, it would make it even better. But other than that, everything in the bowl was delicious and satisfying, from the mushroom-taste of the bamboo shoots (sort of like mushrooms) to the soft boiled egg that sat on the top of the noodles and soup. All together made a satisfying and enjoyable feast. Rating:   ✩✩ ✩ ✩ . 5 /✩✩✩✩✩ Second food: Miso Ramen, a...

First food: "Northern Style Bibimbap Rice", r ice with egg, luncheon meat or beef, roasted seaweed and secret sauce ⏺ The Dumpling Company I'm a biased fan of anything beef, so when I saw beef as one of the following options, I didn't hesitate and chose beef as my meat for the dish. I've gotta say, the beef had a tinge of spice to it and had a nice kick to it, which spiced things up (do you get the joke?) and made the meat more appetising. It was perfect for a person with a weak spice-tolerance like me. The egg that was atop the minced beef was cooked to exactly how I like it; the yolk runny, but partially cooked. It tasted similar to the homemade bibimbap, and it was weirdly nostalgic when I first tried it. But the rice had an excessive quantity, and usually, the rice would be the same quantity as the dish that comes with it, so I wasn't expecting a huge amount of rice served to me. It was a great filling meal, but perhaps if there was one thing to improve it...

Back to the food reviews ✨! A while back then, I used to make food reviews about particular food from shops that I ate in the buzzing streets of Wellington in rain or shine. But abruptly, I stopped doing food reviews to write about other content for my blog. So I figured, why not bring it back this year? I have to admit, I do miss making these food reviews since 1) I'm a big foodie and 2) I love writing, so those two combined would make this! I really hope that you'll like it, and hopefully my writing has improved a lot! First food: A cheesecake drizzled with chocolate sauce, berries on the side and butterscotch ice cream ⏺ Whitby's Restaurant and Bar It absolutely looks impeccably appetising and marvellous, with all its components, the toppings and the ice cream, it just makes it so much more delicious. And the taste? My mouth found heaven at its finest. I love cheesecake, but this dessert is extraordinary. The cheesecake and the chocolate just tasted amazing together, an...

A snippet of a personal writing project

A snippet of a personal writing project This has been a writing piece that I worked in Google Docs in my free time months ago, so I would consider it an ancient piece. I wanted to share with you my OCs (original characters) in Nico's (one of the protagonists) perspective of his first day in Year 9. He has his supportive friends as they navigate through the perils and chaos of high school. I'm pretty proud of this piece, because every rainy day, when outside was all wind and hail, or when it was sunny and mildly sweltering, I would work on this and I loved doing it. The freedom of being able to write anything was refreshing to me, and so here it is. Nico A year ago, start of Year 9      This is the first day of high school.      I’m practically shaking every inch of my body, making me look like a nervous idiot who can’t stay still. It’s because I am nervous, and an idiot. But despite my uncontrollable shaking weighing me down, I somehow br...
