Pick-a-Path ~ "Strangely-Accurate" Occurrence (Part 1)

Once upon a road trip, you were driving in an infinite stretching road with your family for what had seemed like AGES. You are inspecting the book carefully you are right now holding in your hands.

Mysteriously, you've found this book in the ground at the beginning of the road trip when you were just about to get to the car. The book is titled "Strangely Accurate". You read the blurb, and here's what the blurb consisted of.

"One bright and early morning, Laura Sliver is going on a road trip to Heclas."

Wait. That's your name. And you're going to Heclas too... what's even going on? You're really puzzled. Anyway, you take this a mere coincidence - knowing for a fact that this is more than one - and read on.

"But strangely, she finds a book on the ground when she just steps into the car. She reads it during the long and feels-like-forever road trip and realises something. The whole of the story, it's about her. She slowly starts to connect the pieces that maybe she needs to change her fate - a deadly one - and her family's before it's too late..."

You read the last 4 words and goosebumps shiver down your spine. "before it's too late..." This was definitely a warning. Somehow, this ordinary-looking book had read her future's outcome. Then again this book might have also... You gasp. This book is continuously CREATING your future, and it seems inevitable. Or not? This is a lot to take in. You sit in silence for a brief moment. Then you've made up your mind. You have 2 choices.

1. throw the book outside the window, hoping that you will never see it ever again.

OR

2. Read on and see how your fate goes.

If you chose 1., then read on. But if you chose 2., scroll to check your outcome.

You hurl the cursed book outside the window, and never look back. You close your eyes for a moment to think a silent prayer, then your eyes slowly open. You feel something bulky in your lap. You look down. "WHAT?!" You yell. "Are you okay, Lau?" Your dad asks. "Huh? Oh, um... yeah. I just uh, seemed to remember that lemons has more sugar than strawberries!" You say with a decent-enough convincing tone. Or at least, that's what you thought.
"Ooo-kay?" Your parents have seem  to grow more suspicion. Emily (your mum) looks at you concerned and she faces forward as usual. Looks like this book has led you to no choice. You HAVE to read on...

Then read Outcome 2.

You don't like the feeling of this book, you feel like there's tricks and lies that tamper with words. But, you also feel an urgent urge in your gut that's telling you that this book might help you in some ways. It could maybe even save you from you and your family's DEATH. You shake your head off of that thought. You must read, or... you guess that something bad will happen to you? Most likely.

Chapter 1: The Mysterious Book in the Ground

Laura is indeed very excited. Her family's going on a road trip to Heclas. Movies she's watched has always made a very vivid image of a nice and relaxing resort. Pools, waterslides, iced tea! She's been daydreaming since the very beginning of the year. She grabs her luggage and her heart thunders with happiness. She is more than ready to go on this trip. She places a foot into the car but peers down and notices a book lying down on the ground. She picks it up. "This will be great for the road trip!" She thinks excitedly and steps into the car. Little did she know what little of a book can do so much big things in her life...

Okay, remember that when you thought it was really scary when you read the blurb? Scratch that, this was even creepier. Especially the name of the chapter. Gosh, it was spooking you out. Looks like the next chapter will be her future in words...

Part 2 will be out next saturday!
