Pick-a-Path ~ "Strangely-Accurate" Occurrence (Part 5) FINALE
Previously on "Strangely Accurate" Occurrence
Time-Making Control
Doing time-making control can gradually affect someone's life. It could also change and control within your grasp. Having control over someone's future can be in many different forms. A book, a scroll - like the one you're reading right now -, etc. But the someone who touches any form of time-making will cause the controller to gain control over the someone's whole life and their decisions. A way to reverse this effect is for the controller to hold the form of time-making and chant the words "tempus faciens imperium abstinuit".
You feel tears forming in your eyes as you read the first bits of the scroll. There was no way this was true. You realise that maybe Julia was testing out if this would work. This makes you cry even more. Mum and Dad notices and rushes over to you.
"What happened?" He said quietly.
"I was just an experiment. WE were an experiment."
...
"What do you mean?"
"Julia has no relation to us. Heck, she doesn't even know us. What would've we done so wrong to do such horrible things? We did NOTHING!"
"The only thing we can do now is to fight back. We don't deserve this, she does. We need to fix this."
Mum was right. We needed to do this, for Julia to get a taste of her own medicine.
You decided to form a plan.
The only obstacle you could face was getting Julia to actually hold the book into her very hands and chanting the words "tempus faciens imperium abstinuit". How? You slap your hand in your face in frustration.
"What happened?" Dad breaks the tense silence.
"Well, how am I gonna get JM (initials for Julia Murde) to actually do what do scroll says?"
Mum picks up the scroll and faces it to where Dad and she could see it so that they can both read it.
They both read it carefully for a painfully long time.
Then, it hits you.
"We could do a trancing spell!" You whisper-shout.
The result of whisper-shouting after a brief moment of silence was both Mum and Dad flinching, and startling them too.
Dad was about to speak until a creak of the door opening and a Julia interrupted.
"Great idea. Lau, go get the scroll and we'll both do a diversion to stop her from seeing you." Mum says.
You see them both walking away, but in a fast pace and swiftly chattering away to Julia.
Then you also quickly get back to browsing through the scrolls. It was time to end this catastrophe, now or never.
"Trance spells, trance spells" is all you think in your mind. Though, you come across a spell that might be useful for this particular situation.
Trapping Spell
Use an item - something that can fit at least an orange inside - then use a wand and point it towards the item. Chant "res faciam tibi capti" to it and and throw the item towards the person you wish to trap.
Seriously? Throw an item towards the person you wish to trap. Surely the trancing spell couldn't more ridiculous than that, right?
But you keep it in an arm. It may be a key item for this case.
You keep on searching and searching until, you grab a scroll. And open it. Like you did with the other scrolls. "YESS!" You silently beam in your mind. It's a trancing spell.
Trancing Spell
Use a pearl orb and chant "introtius huius esse" 3 times to the ball. Then state the name of the person you want to trance. Throw the ball towards the person. Instruct the person to do what you want them to do. Note that this spell will last 5 minutes.
What? "Throw the ball towards the person"?That sounded utterly stupid as the Trapping Spell. But if the scroll did mention that, then it wouldn't hurt to give a try.
Now, where could you find an pearl orb AND a wand in the middle of nowhere? This was gonna be tough items to find. You scan your surroundings, then look at your parents. It'd seem that they distracted Julia by talking to her. Then the 3 of them go outside.
You smile. Mum and Dad were always fast and creative thinkers. Guess they put those skills into use.
Anyway, you look back at your surroundings. You sigh with disappointment. You look to your side. You notice a cupboard at your side.
Of course! That's the perfect place to hide a pearl ball or... whatever it was called and wand.
You swing the doors open and in the top right corner of the cupboard is a beautiful, kaleidoscopic pearl in the centre.
You just stare for 5 seconds, admiring its beauty, then proceed to pick it up and hold it in your hands. It was a phenomenon.
You almost forgot, the wand! You find a long pointy stick, which you guess acted as the wand.
You scramble over to the kitchen to find an object that had space for contents inside. Specifically for Julia, or how she should fit. You find a jar in one of the upper cupboards - which you are now standing in a chair due to your lack of reach - and silently celebrate your triumph.
It was time for Julia to get what she deserved.
You sneak outside with all the stealth you have - since Julia and your parents was outside chatting - and stand discreetly behind Julia.
Your parents eye you and pause to take a moment, then realise what you were trying to do.
You take a deep breath. Then you whisper as quietly as possible. "Introtius huius esse, introtius huius esse, introtius huius esse."
You think about what the next step was. EUREKA. "Julia Murde.".
Suddenly, the pearl orb lit up - which blinded you - and it popped out wings and spread it, which was crazy and spectacular at the same time.
Huh. It kinda reminded you of the Golden Snitch in Harry Potter. They both looked impossibly alike.
But anyway, you hurl the ball with force and Julia turned around - face in shock and weirdly, fear too - in alarm. She sprinted away from the Golden Snitch as fast as she could, but the ball matched her speed, and was now face-to-ball with her.
The ball fluttered over to her chest and somehow sinked into it. You don't know what was weirder; the ball or how it absorbed into her chest.
This was... peculiar. Then, motions like a zombie, Julia's eyes had turned into a striking shade of white. It looked increasingly scary, but you decide to work fast. Mum looked stunned, and Dad was no different.
You pull out the jar and wand. Using the wand, you say "res faciam tibi capti" to the jar.
The jar shakes in your hands and floats out of your reach.
Who knew that each spell made different reaction to items? Well you didn't.
"Dad, can you hold this?"
Dad reaches for the jar.
"Sure thing Lau."
You forgot about the book. You hurriedly run over to the cottage, go inside, and run outside, book in hand.
"Julia, chant tempus faciens imperium abstinuit."
You put the book into her hands, which she takes.
She chants the words and as she does it, the book slowly melts away into sand.
This is it. You're finally free. From her. From the book.
But not yet.
You throw the jar and it stops and floats over her heart.
Then she turns into a micro, mini Julia and the jar scoops her up. You quickly close the jar.
You hold the jar which has a tiny human inside.
"WE'RE FREE!!!!" You yell.
"WE ARE FREE!" Your parents repeat.
"And it's all thanks to you Lau." Dad and Mum say in unison.
All of us hugged.
You're super relief that you're free from all this danger.
And you learnt something as well.
NEVER EVER touch enchanted books that you find on the ground. Or you'll be controlled by someone for your whole life.
You chuckle at the thought. It sounds funny, but the result isn't.
THE END
