Place Review: New Plymouth, New Zealand (Part 1)

Destination: Brooklands Zoo

PHOTO OP!
Here are some pics that we took at Brooklands Zoo. There are some animals that we took too. Enjoy!

What I liked:
The Brooklands Zoo was filled with so much animals, ranging from birds like infamous rainbow lorikeets, exotic mammals (capybaras for example), kunekune pigs (a farmyard animal) and schelputosiks, a type of reptile you see on your right! Don't let them deceive you, it's actually not a snake, it's a lizard! There's so much animals to admire that there's 90 of them and 30 species in total. It was really interesting to see the animals live in their habitats. Birds flying, the reptiles and amphibians moving about, it's always intriguing to look at all of them. The kunekune pigs I found were incredibly cute!

Destination: Paradise Valley Berry Farm

What I liked:
The place looked full of green. It gave
me a taste of what a typical strawberry
farm would look like. It was really
relaxing picking each strawberry one by
one. And the strawberries were really
sweet and sour. Like perfect strawberries
should taste like. Since I'm a strawberry
sucker - guilty as charged -, the ice
cream looked both appetising AND
delicious. Trust me on this, IT WAS
HEAVENLY. When you visit New
Plymouth, you must try the ice cream in
this farm. Immediately!!!

Destination: Pukekura Park (to attend the TSB Festival of Lights)

Taking a bus to the festival
What I liked:
The lights were so PRETTY! There was even a disco happening at the centre of
the park! It was so cool to see colourful lights moving about around the whole park. They were selling glow-in-the-dark wristbands and the energy was so chaotic but in a good way. Mainly because there were sooo much people by the time it was dark.
