Place Review: New Plymouth, New Zealand (Part 2)

This is me doing camping stuff

Destination: Fitzroy Beach Holiday Park

What I liked:
This park was so calming because I was surrounded by green, and was pretty close to Te Rewa Rewa Bridge (scroll down to see more about the bridge)! When I went there, it was super sunny, but to tell you the truth, it just made the summer vibes in Fitzroy Beach Holiday Park even more summery. Making our food was pretty easy to do and it was really peaceful eating it too. I would recommend because it's super close to Fitzroy Beach, and nice camping ground!

Destination: Novotel New Plymouth

Novotel New Plymouth

What I liked:
Seemed like we booked the perfect room, because a great factor was that it was really spacious and clean too. The bathroom also had a lot of space to move around, and had a warm, cozy shower. We also had a buffet breakfast at the same day that we were gonna leave, so we all left stuffed. Another pro about this hotel was that they provided complimentary bike rentals! I think I never said this before, but I LOVE riding bikes! Been riding them since I was 3?? I lost track. But anyway, it was kinda windy, great weather for bike riding by the way.

Millennium Hotel New Plymouth

  Destination: Millennium Hotel New Plymouth

What I liked:

Sophia fun fact: I take pleasure into soaking into bathtubs. Why am I saying this? Well because guess what? This hotel had a bathtub, and it was soo relaxing after a tiring day exploring New Plymouth a bit more. I really liked how there was also a balcony, so that we could enjoy the view. The weather was so amazing, only sunshine and never rain, so thanks God for postponing his schedule for watering plants (did you get the joke?)???

Destination: Mangorei Track

What I liked:
One thing that really stood out to me was that there was staircases to make the treacherous track a bit less hard. I really like that.

Mangorei Track
I also liked how it was quiet so that I can
just think my own thoughts in peace walking up the track. As an inexperienced trekker or hiker or whatever (this proves my point as to being inexperienced 😅), trekking here was a great first experience. It's not too tiring (it was the opposite for my mum hehe), and quite tranquil. Bonus point:
on the top photo, you can see me holding a "walking stick". This somehow made my trip more interesting? I don't really know how to explain it, but the comfort of holding a wooden pole made it more fun and a bit more like I was exploring except in a more pro-level?? Yup I don't know.

(TIPS for zero experienced trekkers like me when you go trekking!:
~ Bring appropriate footwear (you will regret it if you don't)
~ Pack some food and water to eat, be prepared for the hunger and thirst that awaits you!
~ Use any form of GPSs or Google Maps to monitor your progress of how far you went and how much further it is to your destination
~ Check the weather; you don't wanna walk when you're getting soaked, trust me on this
~ Take breaks. Don't burn out yourself, you're a human, and humans need breaks every now and then
~ This is optional but: find a walking stick to support you on the way. The experience will be more better if you do so!
~ Be mentally prepared that you will get tired and that you might want to give up at times. This is cliche, but push yourself forward if you feel that way. The result will be soo satisfying at the end.
~ Look out for the signs that you will definitely encounter! Do I even need to explain why??
~ If you're being accompanied on the trek, find a leader to guide the way. And if you're the leader, warn the people behind you (since you're on a narrow straight path) about what's in front of them. Like bumps, or roots that might trip you.)

Te Rewa Rewa Bridge

Destination:
Te Rewa Rewa Bridge
What I liked:
This was the bridge I was talking about in the first destination of this blog post! See that white thingy behind me on the right in the top photo? That's
Te Rewa Rewa Bridge! It was kinda terrifying, because it was windy, so the bridge kinda shook a bit... But it was less scary when I stepped out of the bridge, and I survived 👍, so that's what matters right? Anyway, looking down at the water when I was in the bridge was so COOL for no reason.

Paritutu Rock
    Destination: Paritutu Rock

What I liked:

The rock behind me in the left photo is the Paritutu Rock. I almost confused myself for it being "a small mountain". For just several minutes, we just gazed at the rock in sweltering heat. It was worth it though, because we took like a billion photos! Some stolen shots* of the surreal view, and some of them looking at the camera. I really liked the view so much 🩷, so glad I came here. It was also windy, so it made the experience more epic.

*this is a stolen shot, featuring me!
